Buderim

Known as the urban center on the Sunshine Coast, Buderim sits on a 180-metre mountain which overlooks the southern Sunshine Coast toward Mt Coolum & Noosa. The name "Buderim" is from the local Kabi Kabi Aboriginal word for the hairpin honeysuckle. The rich red volcanic soil found on Buderim made the area suited to growing almost everything, notable were coffee and (in the 20th century) ginger, Ginger the crop which made Buderim famous came with humble beginnings and grew into a worldwide demand for the quality. These days Buderim is home to an array of different architecturally styled homes and the largest home in Buderim set the record for hitting the market for around $20 million AUD. A close community that offer schools, aged care, shops and transport it is easy to see why Buderim is the corner stone of the Sunshine Coast market.
